Sterling silver ring by Navajo artist Vivian Barbone set with a bold sugilite stone. Sugilite came from a very limited deposit mined deep underground in Afghanistan, and that source is no longer producing material. Much of the sugilite seen on the market today came from that single mine, so what is already in circulation is essentially all there is. Because of this, good natural stones like the one in this ring have become increasingly scarce and collectible. The long stone is framed with a rope border and finished with a stamped band.
