A truly remarkable statement piece, this cluster pin is marked "PW" and is believed to be the work of a member of the Weebothee family. It came from a longtime collector who acquired most of his collection in the 1980s, and the back is marked "Lone Mountain" with a period price tag that supports that identification. While I can't say with absolute certainty, the stone strongly resembles Lone Mountain turquoise, though it also shares characteristics with exceptionally high-grade Chinese turquoise. I have seen another piece with the same stone, also identified as Lone Mountain by a respected Santa Fe dealer, which further supports the attribution. Measuring 2 3/4 inches in diameter without the dangles and 4 inches overall, this is an extraordinary statement piece.
